The
President of the federal republic of Nigeria in his recent speech announced there
will be an extension on the lock-down for two more weeks in Lagos, Abuja and Ogun
states as against the covid-19 pandemic.
The
president in his speech stated that the reason for the extension was due to the
increasing numbers of positive cases in the states. There are currently 323
confirmed cases of the virus in Nigeria, Lagos currently holds the highest
number of recorded cases and 10 people have died from the virus in Nigeria.
The president also announced there will be an additional one million household with the social investment programs. “A technical committee is working on this and will submit a report to me by the end of this week,” he said.
